Burning Tree saved my life. If it wasn’t for this treatment center, I honestly believe that I wouldn’t still be here. Before going to Burning Tree, I couldn’t string together more than 30 days sober. That was only even possible because I was in another treatment center. I am a chronic relapser, and thought I had tried everything to get sober. I was completely hopeless and had accepted that my addiction was going to be the only life I would ever know. My dad was losing hope, but decided to try Burning Tree as a final option. The staff was incredibly professional and gave me individualized treatment, which I had never received before. They gave me a safe place to be able to work the 12 steps and get connected to a god I didn’t believe in. I have been sober over 3 years today and I am happy, joyous and free. My dad trusted and loved this place so much that when it was time for my brother to go to treatment, he knew exactly where to send him. I would recommend this place to anyone who is unable to stay sober and wants a new life.
I went through a Burning Tree program in January 2017. Here I am a year later, still sober. This was not my first attempt to get sober; I’d been trying for about five years and was never able to string together a significant amount of clean time. The intense groups and attention to specific needs of each individual client were paramount to my recovery. I was able to discover things about myself that had been blocking me from staying connected to a higher power and in turn, staying sober for more than a few months. My life has completely changed ever since. I am eternally grateful for the therapy and care that was given to me during my stay. I would recommend the Burning Tree programs to anyone who is tired of living a life of misery in addiction. There is hope.
I went through the burning tree program in late 2016 and have been able to stay sober ever since. Burning tree saved and then opened me to a brand new life. The experience I had there was life changing in every facet of the term. From the first day I got there until the day I left every single member of the burning tree staff was professional and authentic. They challenged me on a daily basis to look at myself and showed me how me and my actions were getting in the way of me overcoming addiction. They gave me the tools and were able to get me into a routine and show me a completely new way to live that I have carried into every single day ever since. Me and my brother are both alumni of the burning tree program and the gratitude my family has for the burning tree family simply cannot be put into words.
Our daughters stay at TTL was the very best literal transition back into sober living in the 'real world' that we could have hoped for. The fact that they continue to allow residents to return if they leave - no matter what the reason - says a lot about their level of understanding of the addiction process and the support it takes to break that cycle. The education process extended to us as well. William never hesitated to spend time with me on the phone discussing their philosophy, and helping me understand how I could be a better parent with good boundaries and proper support for our daughter. As with any program like this, there are some things that may not work for some residents, but overall, it is an excellent program with a lot of very caring - and I mean truly caring - employees.
Our Son arrived in Tucson Transitional Living after attending and being asked to leave many programs. I can't help but say I felt this would be his last chance. It was on that day we met William Skinner that my optimism was immediately dashed as he began telling us and my son that based on his prior history he would probably fail unless he chose to make a radical change and take responsibility his life. Mr. Skinner's has been their and done it all. He is very clear with all residents from day one that they must own their own behavior. While our son had many bumps in the road he has been sober for several years and continues to participate in AA programs. Having met and worked with many counsellors, therapists and Psychiatrists I must Laud on Mr. Skinner my highest rating and utmost gratitude for saving our son's life and contributing to his positive growth.
I was a resident at this facility when it was Sober U and then employed there when it became Tucson Transitional Living. This program and the people in the community helped save my life. I am truly grateful for the guidance and support I received during my time living there and even more grateful for the opportunity I had to work for TTL. This program is effective because it helps give residents the tools to strengthen and build on their recovery so they can continue to be successful after treatment. The program is 12 step based and introduces residents to fellowships that they can build long lasting relationships in and find strong sponsorship within. Wonderful people, wonderful program and wonderful dogs there too!
My son's life and future to live in a productive and contributing way is largely due to Tucson V3 and the staff who are now at TTL. I am so grateful and respectful of this expertise and am impressed that years later they still help me as a mother when I have a question. I relied and still rely on them and my son stays in touch, too. He wouldn't have had a life without them and these impactful programs! Thank you so much for all you do and for lives you save!!
I credit this program with showing my son the path to sobriety. He has been clean and sober for six years and has become the happy, productive person he was meant to me. Tucson Transitional Living, in tandem with the 12 Steps, saved his life. A person seeking a program to pursue sobriety will not find a better one, with a more dedicated and skillful staff, than Transitional Living.
